MBA Admission Test 2011

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
The minimum qualification for admission to the MBA programme shall be graduation from a recognized Institution (Degree Course of at least three years duration with separate annual/semester examination system) from any stream. Students appearing in the final year examination of the undergraduate class shall also be permitted to apply, subject to the condition that they furnish their final graduation pass result not later than the specified date.

Provided that there shall be a deduction at the rate of 5% per year for each year elapsing since the year the candidate has passed his/her Graduation Examination, subject to a maximum deduction of 15% in the scores of the candidate in the Written Test and each Oral Test taken separately.

ILLUSTRATION
This rule shall be implemented in the following manner for the admission the MBA Programme for the session 2011-12.

RESERVATION
Reservation of seats shall be as per University rules.

FOREIGN STUDENTS
Admission of foreign nationals shall be made strictly as per recommendations of the Foreign Students Advisor of the University as supernumary seats. Foreign students recommended from time to time by the Government of India shall be admitted without Admission Test.

REQUIREMENT TO APPEAR FOR ADMISSION TEST
All applicants, except the foreign national applicants applying through the prescribed channel shall have to appear in the Admission Test.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
The admission to the MBA course shall be based on Admission Test comprising of Written and Oral Tests. All tests shall be conducted only in English medium.

WRITTEN TESTS (600 MARKS):
The written tests shall judge applicants for proficiency in written communication, intelligence, propensity to observe facts and use them, propensity to grasp and use quantitative and scientific tools, general awareness, logical thinking, reasoning power, aptitude for management learning and practice, and maturity in terms of personality.

(i) Communication Ability in English 150 Marks
(ii) Aptitude and Reasoning 150 Marks
(iii) General Awareness 150 Marks
(iv); Quantitative Aptitude 150 Marks

Provided that there shall be negative marking for wrong answers, in pursuance of which, while 3 (THREE) marks will be awarded for every right answer and 1 (ONE) mark would be deducted for every wrong answer.

ORAL TESTS (100 MARKS):
The Oral tests shall comprise of the following :

Group Leadership (50 Marks)
The testing shall be done by grouping the applicants in viable groups and conducting discussion on chosen themes to test the applicant’s leadership ability, group behaviour, and adjustment with group dynamics.
Personal Interview (50 Marks)

FINAL LIST OF SELECTED CANDIDTATES:
The final list of selected candidates shall be drawn on the basis of the overall performance of the candidates in the Written and Oral Tests.
Provided that a candidate has to appear in all parts of the Written Tests and all the Oral Tests; thus, a candidate, who is, for whatsoever reason, absent at one or all the Oral Test(s) shall not be considered for final selection for admission.

Final result shall be declared on the official website of MONIRBA and displayed on the notice board of MONIRBA.

IN CASE OF TIE
While drawing the list of finally selected candidates a tie between two or more candidates securing identical score shall be decided as follows:

Score in the Written Test. In case of their being same,
Percentage Marks scored in Graduate Examination, In case of it being same,
Percentage Marks scored in Intermediate or its equivalent Examination, In case of it being same,
Percentage Marks scored in High School or its equivalent Examination. In case of it being same,
By drawing a lottery.

If a student fails to collect the intimation or deposit the fee by the required date normally he/she shall not be granted extension of time and the vacancy so created shall be filled up by the waiting list candidate in order of merit.

TEST CENTRES

The written test shall be held at Allahabad, Bareilly, Delhi, Kolkata, and Patna
.

The candidate shall have the option to appear from any one of the specified centres. In case the number of applicants opting for a centre is less than 25, the Institute hall have the right to cancel that centre and direct the candidates to appear from any other centre in order of preference registered by them in their application forms or as decided by the Institute. The Oral tests (Group Leadership/Personal Interview) for the short-listed candidates shall be conducted only at Allahabad. The Candidates shall have to make their own arrangements for travel and stay for appearing in the written and oral tests and shall not be entitled to any TA/DA.

Hard Copy of the application form is to be submitted along with crossed Demand Draft by Speed-Post/Registered Post to:

Instructions for Filling in the Online Application Form

The candidate has to fill and submit the Form ON-LINE, in accordance with the instructions given in the said Website and also summarised in this Section.

NOTE: The Form shall not be accessible at the Website after the last date of accessibility given in the Schedule. Before proceeding to fill and submit the On-line Application / Registration Form for MBA Admission Test 2011, the candidate is strongly advised to carry out the following tasks for his/her own convenience :

  • Take a Print-out of this Bulletin (Information and Guidelines) and read it carefully.
  • Read thoroughly the Instructions for the filling and submission of the On-line Form.
  • Review and ensure the correctness of the details of his/her academic record at the High School and Intermediate (or equivalent) and the Graduation, for purposes of making required entries in the On-line Form.

Get his / her latest Passport-size Colour Photograph  AND the signature ( with black ink on white background ) scanned by Computer, so that the scanned Photograph with his / her signature can be submitted with the On-line Form. 
If the candidate does not already have an e-mail address (e-mail ID), he /she should create for himself / herself a valid e-mail ID, in order that the MBA Admission Test 2011 Committee may send him / her significant instructions or information (as per need) by email.

The candidate has to separately remit the prescribed Test Fees, for Rs. 1500/- (One thousand five hundred) only, by a Demand Draft (Bank Draft) of any national bank, drawn in favour of "Head, Motilal Nehru Institute of Research and Business Administration”, payable at Allahabad . The candidate should cross the Demand Draft, and write his / her full Name, Father's Name and Application lD generated upon successful submission of the Online Registration Form, on the reverse (back) lower left-hand corner of the Demand Draft. The candidate should also get Photo-copies (Xerox) made of the two sides of the Demand Draft, and keep them secure for his / her own reference and record.

It should be noted that the Test Fees shall not be refunded or carried over in case the application of the candidate is rejected, or his / her candidature is rendered infructuous or cancelled at any stage, or he / she does not appear wholly or partially for MBA Admission Test 2011.

NOTE : There is no provision for the withdrawal by a candidate of his / her application / candidature for MBA Admission Test 2011 once he / she has submitted the Form or, pursuant to the same, remitted the Test Fees.

The candidate is strongly advised to check (and double-check) that all the required entries have been fully and correctly made by him / her on the On-line Application / Registration Form,, and in particular to ensure the following :              

  • His / her scanned Photograph along with his her signature (vide sub-para 3.03.5) has been properly submitted while submitting the Online Registration Form.
  • The information entered in different columns is factually correct and complete (i. e. relevant information has not been concealed or misrepresented).
  • The details of the Demand Draft (vide para 3.06) by which the Test Fees amount is being remitted have been fully entered.

After completing and checking its entries the candidate should submit the On-Line Form by clicking the SUBMITButton at the bottom for the online form. In the following circumstances, the Website shall refuse to accept the Form and shall give a message indicating the mistake (or mistakes) in the Form requiring correction. Such messages may indicate the following circumstances:

  • The candidate has not filled one or more essential/mandatory fields (i. e. has not made one or more compulsory entries which are marked by * in the online form).
  • The candidate has made an irrelevant entry in any field.
  • Security Code provided at the bottom of the online form is not entered exactly.
  • The candidate shall have to correct all the mistakes indicated in the message, and then submit the on-Line Form once again by clicking on the SUBMIT Button. The Website may again refuse to accept the Form in case mistakes remain. In such a situation, the candidate shall continue to have to make the required corrections and keep on submitting the Form, by clicking again on the SUBMIT Button till no further mistakes are pointed out by the Website.

After the form is submitted successfully, the Website will give the following message:

and will display Application ID assigned to the candidate for accessing the Website in respect of his/her candidature. An email will also be sent to the candidate containing their email and password. The candidate is strongly advised to securely remember / store the password for future use and reference. The candidate may feed his / her Email and PASSWORD to the Website to view and take a Print-out of the Form, and check the status of his application.

NOTE: It is clarified that the successful submission of the candidate's Form does not indicate that his / her candidature for MBA Admission Test 2011 has been approved. In fact, the Form is subject to further scrutiny and the candidate shall not be entitled to appear at MBA Admission Test 2011 till his/ her candidature has been approved and his ADMIT CARD has been released On-Line at the Website (vide para 3.15).
 Immediately after the successful submission of the Form for final processing (vide para 3.11), the candidate should do the following:

  • Get the hard copy (Print-out) of the Form from the Website.
  • Securely attach the Demand Draft (mentioned in para 3.07) with the hard copy of the Form.
  • Put his/her full signature at the place provided for the purpose in the hard copy of the Form.

After complying with directions given in sub-paras 3.12.2 to 3.12.4, dispatch the hard copy along with draft of the Form without delay by

The candidate is strongly advised to ensure that the hard copy of the Form is sent (as directed in sub-para 3.12.5) as early as possible, without waiting for the last date for the Postal receipt of Forms to come close, so that it reaches the MBA Admission Test 2011 Office in due time. THE UNIVERSITY SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR POSTAL DELAYS OR LOSS OF THE FORM IN TRANSIT.

NOTE : The hard copy Of the Form shall not be accepted after the last date for its POSTAL RECEIPT, as specified in the SCHEDULE (vide para 3.05).
The hard copy of the Form received within the prescribed date shall be scrutinised in the following respects :

  • Whether the Demand Draft for the Test Fees is attached with the hard copy, as per requirement and matches the details given in the On-Line Form (vide para 3.07 and sub-para 3.12.3).
  • Whether the hard copy bears the full signature of the candidate at the specified place signed by the candidate (vide sub-para 3.12.4).
  • Whether the hard copy and its contents are otherwise in accordance with the instructions and requirements.

If the scrutiny of the Form, on the points enumerated in sub-paras 3.14.1 to 3.14.5, establishes that the Application of the candidate is in order, he/she shall be duly REGISTERED for MBA Admission Test 2011. However, if the scrutiny indicates deficiencies in one or more of the said points, the application of the candidate shall be REJECTED.

NOTE: The process of Scrutiny may take at least two days after the Postal Receipt of the Form. It is clarified that the scrutiny shall be based upon the information furnished by the candidate himself / herself in the On-Line Form and with its hard copy. It is possible that such information may itself be false or erroneous, and this fact may come to light later. Where the candidate is Registered on the strength of such false or erroneous information, his / her candidature and, in case he has in the meantime been granted admission to the D. Phil. Programme, his admission, shall be cancelled, with retrospective effect, at whichever stage this fact is discovered.

Upon the REGISTRATION of the candidate, a message to this effect shall be displayed with his / her On-Line Application Form on the Website (which may be viewed by feeding the assigned Applicatioin lD and Password). This message may also be sent by e-mail to the e-mail ID entered in the On-Line Form.

Once the candidate has been Registered (vide paras 3.15 and 3.16), he/she should view and take a hard copy (Print-out) of his / her ADMIT CARD . The ADMIT CARD shall indicate the  Roll Number, the Subject and the Test Centre details of the candidate.
In the case of any of the following complaints of a candidate who has submitted the On-lineApplication/Registration Form (vide para 3.10), he / she may file a GRIEVANCE by e-mail to the following address :comp@monirba.com, using the same e-mail lD as he/she has entered in the Form and mentioning the Application lD in the subject line of the Email.
